HADDENHAM, UK - - Richard Green used his SkyCaddie SX550 on the way to winning the Jersey Legends 2023 event at La Moye Golf Club in early June, successfully defending the title which he won in 2022.

The 52 year old Australian Tour pro claimed his third win on the Legends Tour, after starting the final day two shots clear of his fellow SkyCaddie user Peter Baker. A closing 71 gave him a -9 finishing total, one-shot clear of Scotland’s Greg Hutcheon, himself a new SkyCaddie user.

“I fell in love with this golf course when I first came here last year” said Green, “and it feels great to secure the first title defence of my career.”

As a recent convert to SkyCaddie GPS, three-time European Tour winner Green has seen a benefit to his game from the device. “I’ve had the SkyCaddie for a year now, after first picking it up on the Legends Tour in Europe” he said. “I think it is fantastic. It gives you a number straight away showing what you’ve got as you move closer to the hole, and I like that.”

Green was one of 15 SkyCaddie-using golfers who placed in the event’s top 20 and ties.

On the subject of future developments for distance measuring devices on Tour, Green commented: “SkyCaddie GPS is great for my course strategy at the start of the week and for making a plan of action. I think they’re a great idea and I hope that at some point we also get to use this technology on the Champions Tour.”

SkyCaddie’s James Holmes said: “Knowing that even battle-hardened international Tour pros like Richard Green, who has decades of experience and ten wins under his belt on Tour worldwide, can find a performance advantage with a SkyCaddie makes us tremendously proud.

“Our mappers have walked thousands of miles, doing the hard work on foot which no other golfing GPS brand does, to guarantee that you simply cannot beat a SkyCaddie for accuracy.

“Knowing that winners trust a SkyCaddie when the chips are down and titles are at stake, makes all those miles worthwhile!”

Former F1 World Champion Damon Hill starred in Green’s amateur team in the accompanying Legends Tour Celebrity Series Team Event as they romped home in first place with a seven-point victory.
